My husband has an alcohol and cocaine addiction
Posted by Brenda on 10 April 2015.
Hi I am a 39 yr old mum of 4 teenage children and have been married to my husband for 29 years. His addiction has been on off over the years from binge drinking followed with cocaine using not coming home all night. Not stable in jobs. I am a self employed business woman who have been keeping all the finances above board for years until the last few months when we bought another property and I need his help financially. Due to his drinking he's not been to work for the last 2 weeks failed a medical test for work purposes and drinking with his mates everyday spending around £150 a day. He says its to treat our sons to cinema and taking them to the pub with him where they will play chess. My sons are 17 and 16 and the eldest is now driving his dad back from the pub every night therefore staying out also until early hours of the morning. I feel so tired all the time there is no order in the house it seems to be spiralling out of control. We have tried aa meetings as well as an meetings had a few sessions of counselling but he is not committed enough as its me that wants sobriety than him.. Don't know what to do..
