Ketamine is a powerful anaesthetic and has been used in operations. It has become popular in the dance community and makes people feel detached from their surroundings; at higher doses it can make people hallucinate.

What does it look like?
Legally produced ketamine (for medicinal use) comes as a liquid. If it is illegally produced it will appear as a white powder.
What is its legal status?
Class C
How much does it cost?
Roughly £20 per gram.
What equipment do people use to take it?
None if snorted in powder form. If it is injected, then people will use syringes.
What about dependence/addiction?
Ketamine is not physically addictive, but people can become addicted psychologically. Heavy users can build up tolerance, meaning they will need to take more to get the desired effects.
