Variety of training methods: didactic, interactive, experiential, facilitative - group learning.

Substance use

Assess and act upon immediate risk of danger to substance users (pdf)

The SASSI provides specific indicators of risk, such as likelihood of need for detoxification, and possible suicidal ideation. The course content enables the user to administer, score and interpret the findings of the psychometric screening instrument, which will yield these indications. Variety of training methods: didactic, interactive, experiential, facilitative - group learning.

Raise awareness about substances, their use, and effects (pdf)

SASSI training incorporates examination and comparison of internationally recognised systems of classification of substance misuse status. This can be helpful in terms of justifying referrals to third-party payers and in report writing. The course content and training methods are as above.
